Property entrepreneur Chan Khangura has announced a key acquisition in Mirfield as his property business continues to grow and expand.
Chan, owner and managing director of Whitegates Estate Agents Huddersfield, Brighouse and Holmfirth, has acquired the Whitegates franchise for Mirfield.
It was only in December 2024 that Chan, who runs the business with his father Kashmir, bought the Whitegates branch covering Pontefract, Castleford and South Elmsall.
In recent years, Chan has also bought long-established Huddersfield agency Whitworths along with smaller agencies including CMK, McField, Let Two, Linden Lettings and Easy Lettings Northwest.

Whitegates is the largest lettings agency in Huddersfield and now manages more than 1,500 rental properties across the region.
Chan said that moving into neighbouring Mirfield was the next logical step in his growth strategy.
“I’m pleased to have completed the acquisition of the Mirfield franchise which shows our commitment to progression, growth and long-term expansion,” he said.
“The property industry never stands still and our growing strength means we can continue to deliver a service to our clients that exceeds their expectations.
“Mirfield is a sought-after location for families looking to buy or rent a home with great transport links, a thriving town centre, good schools and some amazing scenery and green spaces – it will be perfect for our satellite office.
“All those aspects make for a strong local property market and we’re proud to continue to provide a great service from our satellite office on Huddersfield Road, right in the centre of Mirfield.”
