About Us
Mirfield Mail was launched in May 2026 by Martin Shaw and Tom Coates.
Martin is the editor and co-founder of Huddersfield Hub and the former print content editor of the Huddersfield Examiner, and in his 40th year as a journalist.
Tom is a former full-time journalist who now runs a small marketing agency.
Both Martin and Tom are Mirfield residents who are passionate about championing everything good in our town.
We believe in proper local journalism and shining a light on the stories that matter.
