Gardeners, growers and bakers are being invited to take part in the 110th annual show organised by Mirfield Allotments and Gardens Society.
The show will be held at Mirfield Community Centre on Water Royd Lane on Saturday August 29.
It opens to the public at 1.30pm and admission is free. Tea, coffee, sandwiches, cakes and buns will be on sale during the afternoon, with cash prizes presented to winning exhibitors at 4pm.
The show has been held every year since 1915 and has only been cancelled once due to the pandemic in 2020.
Entries can be made on the morning of the show between 8am and 11.30am. Anyone can enter the open classes, while some categories are reserved for society members. Entries cost 20p each.
Event co-ordinator Amanda Wigglesworth said: “This is the most important day in our annual calendar. The event cannot be staged without all the volunteers from inside and outside the allotment society who continue to give so much of their valuable time.”
The society has also thanked Mirfield Community Centre for hosting the event and local businesses which have provided financial support.
Sponsors include Newgate Garage, Transmec UK, Fantastic Media, Mirfield Auto Spares, Emerging Futures, Kirklees in Recovery, Tivoli Travel and Mirfield Podiatry.
Thanks have also gone to Tim Swann Graphics for supplying banners promoting the show around Mirfield and Haigh’s Farm Shop for providing food for the kitchen, including sandwich fillings, pork pies and Yorkshire slab.
